This weekend I saw my friends. Heard them laugh. Listened to them talk about faith and doubt: One of them has faith, the other doubt. I'd love to give a little of the one to the other, both ways. I saw some new laugh lines and I rejoice that they really are from laughing. Ate some good food. Saw a mediocre movie. Told my best new joke.

Today I watched a woman getting a pedicure. At first I just glanced out of the corner of my eye. By the end, I was staring at her gorgeous, corpulent, newly-polished piggies without shame. It reminded me of all the things I love about women's bodies: their curviness, how none of them are the exactly the same. I love how women like to feel pretty. Even I feel pretty today. It took nearly half a day at the spa but I do feel pretty.

Today I saw two birds doing a mating dance. It was really cool. I was amazed by it.

Today I saw someone tell the truth, admit to having needlessly harmed others, and ask forgiveness.

Remarkable.

And I saw a rainbow.
